The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) is Canada’s financial intelligence unit. Its job is to detect, prevent and deter money laundering and the financing of terrorist activities. In order to comply with FINTRAC, Planswell may check your credit rating if you were to implement certain financial services in the future. This is done to verify your identity, and will not impact your credit rating in any way.
When you join Planswell, we may ask you to update your plan every six months. We may also contact you at other times, such as to see if you are happy with our service, to let you know about new features, or to inform you about promotions or opportunities that we think you might like. Your information is stored on highly secure servers, and even our own employees have access to it only on a need-to-know basis. We also share certain necessary information about you with other parties, such as respected financial institutions, insurance companies and mortgage lenders to assist you with improving your plan or implementing products or services. We may also share some of your information with our business partners and service providers that assist us with running our business, such as financial services / products, anti-fraud, technology, communications, data analysis, legal and accounting partners. Aside from these instances and those identified in the detailed long form below, we will not disclose, trade, rent, sell or otherwise transfer your personal information without your consent.
From a technical point of view, we protect your data with advanced data encryption, secure servers on a private network.
